Hi everyone; Networking Noob looking for a quick answer, Yes or No. Can I set up a home network with my current configuration. I think I can do all the legwork setting it up but want to know if it is feasible before i begin.

I have a BTHomeHub which my xp pro sp2 desktop is hardwired to and connects to the internet through this.

I have a Vista laptop which connects wirelessly to said hub.

Is it possible? or do I need more hardware/wires; it is not worth doing if the laptop cannot remain wireless.

    Thanks for any answers/suggestions.

I would think so, it depends how good the Home Hub is as to whether you'll get a good connection with the laptop or not.

no problem just run the network wizard on both and ensure they both give you mshome as your workgroup
then make a sharing folder (rightclick sharing)
