Ok, I got a Xbox from my friend that is supposed to be modded with a mod chip. However when I get it from him he tells me the mod chip doesnt work because of something becoming unsoldered. I opened up the Xbox and found what seems to be a Xecuter 2.x mod chip. The reason i say 2.x is because I don't know what version it is (i think it is 2.3 lite). Anyway, nothing has been soldered in it at all. There is this thing with metal pegs sticking out of it that seems to connect to the mod chip as a replacement to BUS pegs that are soldered. The mod chip seems to be connected properly, but the unnamed thing has a wire coming off of it that doesn't do anything I can tell. The wire is not connected to anything that i see but i think it may possibly be what came unsoldered. The wire is extremely thin. Almost as thin as a hair. I don't want to remove the motherboard only to find that there was no purpose do doing that. Besides, I can't get the stupid motherboard power supply cable unplugged anyway. So, i need help figuring out what this peggy thing is and also why the mod chip isnt working.

    I'd say it's the 'd0' point.

My advice however, remove the chip entirely and just softmod it. My tutorials show you exactly how to do it, it's easy, cheap and works exactly the same as a modchip!

I'd advise this for you as you don't sound like the "soldering" type!

There is a problem. I have the "Christmas Lights" problem. It reboots 3 times and then flashes red and green. Also there is no video.

Yeah, I read your first post.

Either repair the d0 point or remove the chip!

Your Xmas Tree issue is irrelevant to what I'm telling you!
