Sync subtitles problem

    Hi! I use VLC plaver to play an .avi file. I want to have subitiles but when I load the subtitles file the subtitles are out of synch. Is there some setting where you can synch the subtitles? I am not very good at this.. pls any help much appreciated!

    There is no adjustment in VLC that I know of.

    If the condition is related to an AVI with a separate .srt file, it's possible that the AVI is running at 25 frames per second and the .srt files are coded for 29 frames per second, so you can see that the faster running subtitles will come up before the corresponding audio.

    This condition can be checked with Subtitle Workshop and the offending subs can be converted to the correct speed.
