starview factory reset not working stuck on language setting

can anyone help me. i recently reset factory settings on my starview box and have gone through all the usual things (installation and emu etc) but when i exit out of menu it goes to language select, when i select a language it brings me back to main menu. it won't let me exit. i have tried turning it off and plugging it out but no dice yet same problem all the time.

 

you need to do another automatic scan

 

tried that about 5 or 6 times and still had the same problem with the language select coming back up. are you saying scan it twice consecutively

 

have you let it do a full automatic scan so it saves the channels?

 

yeah its gone all the way through the scan and looks as if its worked but when i exit main menu it goes to language setting and the only button that works is ok so i go back into main menu.

did you get a solution to this problem, i have the very same one, cannot exit from language menu when pressing exit

 

You have to choose English > Installation > Automatic Scan > it should say 176 channels found .
Exit , Then press menu 1570 > Turn the EMU key ON

 

i have tried this but zero channels found comes up after auto search.

 

Ok start from scratch and make sure your incoming cable and scart lead is in correctly

Menu > Factory Setting
PIN 0000
OK to delete

English > Installation
Choose N*L
Automatic Scan
Press OK
176 Channels found
Exit

Menu 1570
Turn EMU key ON

Exit , exit , exit

 

nope still coming up as zero channels found and i still cannot exit past language screen..also user setup and parental lock cannot be accessed

 

dont press exit on language screen, press ok on english !

 

The reason u cant press exit is because there is no languaged selected as u have done a factory reset previously..

 

im now having this same problem after trying to do Frequency change fix this morning.

 

after you do autoscan, no programs are found, you then have to exit back to get out of this and you can only go back as far as language again.it is an eternal loop.

 

can u click ok on language ? and then select english !

 

no, you dont get the option to press language , it comes up automatically at the start.
then you press english and carry on as normal, problem occurrs when no programs are found and you can only exit/ok back to start if that makes sense.
am trying powering down the box for a few minutes at the moment pc style and seeing if that helps...

 

Knocking it off will give it a quick reboot alright .
When u are scanning is your provider the one for ur area ?
can u get to the secret menu ?

 

bingo, reboot worked
not sure what the problem was, but turning it off for 5 mins and then did the usual as suggested by mainman.

Fair play.like I said, a turn off from the back for a min or two gives it a quick kick up the backside.normaly happens after rescanning or reflashing !
