I have a WD 160G external hard drive on my mackbook; it was working find until it just stop to recognize it; I checked on disk utilities and it shows up there but not on my screen and I can do nothing. I try to use "First Aid" on disk utilities and I get an error message "the underlying task reported failure on exit" Any help would be greatly welcome. Thanks in advance
Sounds like the drive might be failing. try Disk Warrior or Data Rescue 2 on it to ether fix the drive or recover the data.
