I just got a new computer with vista , and when I copy things the speed goes up and down, so is there a problem with the pc or is this just how it is.
Not with my computer, using XP. I know nothing about Vista, except that it has a lot of incompatibility issues, with some hardware. Sorry........maybe someone that's more familiar with Vista, will chime in. Good luck!
Can you post your pc specs? I had Vista since its release date and the only issues I had with it is program compatibility, everything else seems fine.
heres the spec Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6600 2.4GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 4MB Cache Genuine Windows Vista(TM) Home Premium 2048MB RAM Memory 500GB Hard Drive Dual Layer DVD Re-Writer Drive 256MB ATI Radeon X1550 Graphics Built-In TV Tuner + Remote Control 802.11b/g Wireless Network Ready
Seems like you the optimal specs to run Vista. Now, is this PC custom built or a name brand(HP, Dell), and did it come with pre-installed software? Try to uninstall some unwanted software since there are some that run in the background that can slow down the PC's performance. Is it just the file transferring that is slow? Does it take longer to start up an app?
the pc is not a custom build, the brand is philips. yeah file transferring is only thing that is slow. it came with some pre-installed software, but I installed microsoft word from a cd that came with the computer. its doesn't take longer to start up the apps.
Where did you get a Philips computer? I have never heard of a Philips computer before. I know they build lots of other things, but computers.......... I've not heard of.
that computer is very good, the brand does not matter too much, some include more crap then others, and some have better customer service. It could just be vista, i have this problem too, then when i dual boot to xp there is no problem
