Get 5 free blu-ray movies w/ ps3 puchase?

i was just wondering if this was a scam or something. also, do they just need the UPC code off the ps3 box or do we actually have to cut it out and send it in? same question about sending in the receipt because i kind of want to hold on to that for warranty sake. thanks in advance

 

It's not a scam, it's true.
You'll probably have to send the UPC code in, but I think they'll accept a copy of the sales receipt. They know you'll need the original receipt. You choose the movies from a list of certain ones. You don't get to choose just any movies you want. You should be able to get 5 good ones though. Here is what you choose from. You can choose one movie from each catagory:

Category 1:

Invincible
Chicken Little
Pearl Harbor

Category 2:

Corpse Bride
Blazing Saddles
Phantom of the Opera


Catagory 3:

Stealth
Underworld Evolution
Resident Evil 2

Does anyone know if you have to purchase your ps3/blue ray player from a certain store. I know circuit city/target/wal-mart all list rebate forms in there online stores which you can print & mail in w/ upc code & receipt.

I would like to purchase a blue ray player from a local store which I have a $50 gift card at. Should I be ok or do I have to purchase from a certain store?

hey i bought a ps3 but threw out the box, which has the upc code on it. I still have the reciept. Do you think I am still good for the offer though?

NO! I think they care less about the reciept. The bar code shows them that you purchased their product.

 

Don't EVER throw away the boxes for electronic equipment!
You may need to send it in for repairs sometime. Nothing better than original box, to ship it in.

 

I BOUGHT MY PS3 FROM BEST BUY AND WAS PROMISED THIS DEAL,, I SENT THEM A COPY OF THE RECIEPT AND THE UPC CODE FROM THE BOX ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND STILL HAVENT RECEIVED THE BLU RAYS SO MAYBE IT IS A SCAM,,

Yes, I've heard quite a few people say it took them a long time to get the movies, but they did eventually get them. Be prepared to wait awhile.

There are so many people cashing in on the deal, that they run out of the movies, and have to get more..........

 

Well the movies roughly take 2-5 months for you to receive them after sending in the rebate. But like said before, they do come. Also the offer got extended until January 31 2008 to send in your rebate.

 

Well the don't get in any hurry about sending you the movies do they?

I just sent mine out this morning. It was a slightly different altered list than what you posted previously. But, i've heard it takes four months or so. The receipt said 10 weeks. We'll see.

 

damn thats crap, i swapped my 360 for a ps3 so i dont have a recipt.

this should be more easier like just send in your serial number off the console for the films

without a receipt, they figure it could be stolen, and they're not going to give free movies to a thief. (definitely not saying you stole it)

Did you swap it at a store?
Maybe they'll give you a receipt, if you explain what happened?
Usually the original receipt, will be stapled to a new receipt, showing an exchange like that, because they know you'll need a receipt to prove the purchase date, for warranty reasons.

If you traded with another person, get their receipt.......

 

i traded it with a friend of mine, he got it off ebay and wasnt into it much so i swapped it with my 360 cos it was modded.

ah well ont matter.

would it work if i go out an buy a new ps3, send off for the offer then take it back if i dont open the box up, just say it was an unwated presant.

 

Don't know, but I doubt it.
You'd have to wait until the movies got to you, which takes a few months. Most store's return policies are only 30 days.
