i have done lots of searching on these forums,tried some stuff,but got confused,so.... i have a german dvd ,with no subtitles,and i wish to add english subs so i can understand it, how please?
Assume this disk is a PAL disk and has been ripped to a DVD folder and Shrunk with DVD Shrink and subtitles in .srt format are to hand. Run VobEdit > 'Open', select VTS_01_1.VOB (the first large VOB of the title, the rest will come in at the same time). Demux > select 'All Video and Audio'. The files will be saved as an .m2v and an ac3. Run DVDAGUI Set the DVD format as PAL. 'Add Title' and select the .m2v and ac3 Select 'Extras' and 'Add/Edit Subtitles'. In the Subtitles window, 'add subtitle' (locate the .srt file) Note,'fps' should reflect the DVD type (PAL 25, NTSC 29.97) Reset the bottom margin (60 in my case) and 'accept'. 'Author DVD' Test the output with the media player then either readjust the sub position or burn to DVD. Note the placement of the subs reflects my own setting (60) from the bottom margin. If the disk is NTSC then the setting for DVD format has to reflect it else errors will occur.
