having trouble starting multiplayer for stalker

the game runs perfectly fine for me, beat it and done. But everytime i try to join a multiplayer game it goes to the loading screen and then stops responding. i've downloaded the patch for it. what could be the problem?

 

I assume you are running a legitimate version of the game? Multiplayer doesn't work off the bat with copied/torrented versions.
If it is a genuine copy, what network system do you use?

 

no it's the full retail version of the game. What network system do u mean?

 

As in, how do you connect to the internet?

 

my bad, by ethernet cable.

 

To what? What router/modem setup do you have?

 

to a 4 port switch w/ my 360. the network is setup by my college campus, what they use, i have no idea. it's cable internet.

 

Do other online games work? Because you'll probably be firewalled.

 

all of my other games work in multiplayer no problem.
