    Firstly, I've got Alcohol 120%.

ClonyXXL says it's protected by SecuROM V4.84.

What settings etc should I set the reading and writing processes to?

    Cheers everyone.

Oh, and I've no idea about this "2-sheep burner" malarky, so just put that bit simply, if you're going to mention it. Ta.

Grand Theft Auto III: Vice City is SecuROM 4.8.4 cd protected. I "think" cd 1 is also SecuROM 4.8.4 cd protected as well but use ClonyXXL to verify. The easiest way to backup this game is to use Blindwrite 5 Beta (cd 2) and the cd volume name should be: VICE_CITY_PLAY. If cd 1 is SecuROM 4.8.4 cd protected then use the Blindwrite 5 Beta Tweaker and there is an option to disable topology measurement.

I downloaded the .BWA file for the Play CD.
Should I leave it's filename as is, or change it to Vice_City_Play?

It's riddled with the creators name etc.

    Oh, and what's generally better?

    Alcohol 120% or BlindWrite 'x'?

Blindwrite 5 beta automatically creates a bwa file (topology measurement) for you m8. This is why I suggested that you download BlindWrite 5 Tweaker and disable topology measurement for cd 1 and burn DAO pw+sub-q channel data\audio. Enable topology measurement= bwa file for cd 2.After burning cd 2 see if the backup will play in your drive(s). if this fails then use another drive and burn cd 2 again.
Best software for backing up SecuROM 4.8.4
    1) BlindWrite 5 Beta
    2) BlindWrite Suite 4.5.x
    3) CloneCD\Twinpeak Tool
    4) Alcohol 120%
