I have a two year old gateway laptop with a gig of ram and only a sixty gig hard drive how hard would it be to upgrade the ram and harddrive.
Not very, check your manual. Usually you just have to remove a couple of screws and stuff. Just little stuff, they have to make it easy for consumers to upgrade those two things.
yupps. she'll never be a gamer, as you'd have to swap your processor as well. you can rebuild it to work well as an internet/word processor/media storage machine, but it won't ever run like a new machine.
