Hi guys,

I am using dvd shrink and just wondering if i chose "no compression" is that mean the quality of the dvd is exactly the same the orginal one or there will be a bit different, what about compression at 5%, 10% ect??
Just want to know when the quality start to turn really bad.
Thanks guys :)

Well no compression is what you said, the movie is exactly the same as before.

Compression does what it says, shrinks the movie so that it will fit into one empty DVD-R. Well you can use up to 25% or 30% and compressing more will give as result a DVD movie of bad quality.

Always use re-author and keep only the movie and one audio stream.

hi all

i think dvd shrink compression works backwards!

meaning that 5% sucks big time! it starts at 100% and you the lower it goes the more compression...

i can only get from 100% to 48% by moving the slider for more compresion right to he end!

and i have done a film at 55% compression to get 2 films on one disc it sucked!!! i think between 60 and 100% is ok!

Thx...

EDIT:

no compression is 100%

thx..

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

The trick is to compress the movie as little as possible, but to remove more of the features and audio not wanted.

Hope this helps!

@Rotary:

This is for the new DVD Shrink 3 Beta 5.
The old one (2.3) is the other way!

Can you tell me why you thank everyone at the end of your posts, I am dead curious!

Hi all. :)

To make sure the video stream is left untouched, use "No Compression".
In theory, "100%" should have the same effect, but in practice it depends whether or not you use "Deep analysis" (the button simply titled "Analysis"). ;)
