i posted befor the specs to the computer iam going to build. the thing iam confused about is the monitor and graphic card. is the DVI thing on the monitor and graphics card highdeff or is it sonmething else. this whole VGA DVI S-VIDEO thing is confusing. some one clear this up for me. iam getting the 8800 gts and the Acer AL2216WBD 22" http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2430647&sku=A179-2204 thanks -Victor
Well, DVI is a high definition interface, it can support resolutions of up to 1920x1200 (although the monitor can only support 1680x1050, so it cannot properly play back 1080i or 1080p sources), but it lacks HDCP, so you won't be able to connect a Bluray/HD-DVD player or a PS3 to it.
Well, do you need a monitor with HDCP enabled? If you do, check out the Dell 2407WFP (Make sure it's the A04 revision)
i was looking on the dell website and i saw this also http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/monitor_3007wfp?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19 i was wondering which one would be better for the 8800 gts 320 mb
The 30" is higher resolution and obviously bigger, but it's not HDCP enabled, and only has a DVI input. The 30" is the monitor I use, and it's fantastic, but you won't be able to plug anything but a PC into it.
