I've been trying for a while and reading through the posts and have'nt seen this question answered anywhere, but I can't seem to FTP to my hard drive to load emulators and apps like hdd loader and XBMP. I even tried burning these to disks and loading them that way but the XBOX doesn't seem to recognize what to do with it. I am running Xecuter Lite 2.2 with Evox dash. Also, I have not had any problems FTPing from the hard drive.

My Xbox is connected to my computer (i used a router) and I can FTP from the xbox. The problem is trying to copy files to the xbox. I have an F drive, but I get an error when trying to put something in there. I am using Flash FXP. Any suggestions? I just want to be able to put an emulator (xnes) on the xbox.

Sounds like the router is blocking that port.

Are you using the original Xbox harddrive?
If so you may see an F drive but on the 8gb XBox harddrives there is actually no space in the F drive.

yes, I am using the original HD. I guess I could upgrade if there is no other way. It's just that all the instructions say to just FTP it to the hard drive, but I can't. Is there any way to use an emulator without FTPing it onto the F drive? I tried making an iso out of the xnes folder with games in the games folder, but when I burned it and put it into the xbox, it reads no disk.

I looked at the settings in system utils, you're right, there is a big fat 0 next to the f drive. Is there any way to change this, or do I have to install a new HDD?

The default hard drive has no F drive.

Some XBox were shipped with a 10gb harddrive though only 8gb's are used. I don't remember which drives they are off hand.
You can use either Slayers or Team Xaviers installer to try and format the extra 2gb's in F. It may or may not work depending on the hard drive you have. Just make sure you choose the Format F drive option or you'll reformat and erase the entire drive.

I guess I'm just going to upgrade to a 120 Gig drive, I've read the tutorials and it doesn't seem too hard, didn't have any problems modding so this shouldn't be too bad. One thing though, does the HD speed matter?

The 7200rpm drives do get alittle hotter but will be fine as long as the airflow from the fan isn't blocked.

The 5400rpm drive will load about the same speed as the DVD drive. Of course the 7200rpm will be alittle faster.

When installing it use one of the Auto Installers. Either Team Xavier or Slayers.
