question about sound drivers and the such.

    i was talking to a buddy of mine on a ventrilo server the other day and we started talking about sound and im just wondering what i need to run sound out of my line in (currently set to rear sound out) and then run music or something else from my line out into some headphones. any ideas?

    So what is it you're trying to do? I don't think integrated sound lets you play two different things over speakers/headphones at once.

    and thats fine, i didnt think i could without getting a sound card. my old one died and i knew i could do it with that but i guess ill just go get a new card one day soon. thanks for your help thought. :)

    Well, it's not really the case of which sound card, it's a case of how many. If you want say games or music out the speakers, and a skype/teamspeak/ventrilo conversation through headphones you need two sound devices, so either buy a USB headset, or get an ADDITIONAL sound card.
