i bought a blank starview 2 box but i cant get the software to download i downloaded the right bin file 4.50 GTrom and i connect the null modem cable via a usb adapter when i press the download button the download box appears but the percentage never moves it always stays on 0% screen does not freeze so i can cancel download and try different file im very new at all this but i got the box to pick up the normal freeview channels im with N*L in se london Any help would be great thanks
you will need a null modem cable and a serial usb port adapter. i bought the null modem cable and i still have got the same problem i can get the FTA channels without the software downloaded and i have found 303 channels via C+W but nothing with N*L Any suggestions
thought i would give u all info i have Starview 2 The Box API version 2.60e boot version 7.0 9th april 2007 com 3 baud rate 11520 BIN. 4.51 uk version Null modem cable f2f 9 pin with serial 2 usb connector
As you have indicated you still have API version 2.60e. You need to do as Celt has said and flash version 4.51 to the box.
You wont be able to turn the EMU key ON with 2.60 installed , and you need to flash the b0x with 4.51 for the UK , Are you sure its a NULL MODEM CABLE you bought as they both look identical
it's definately a null modem cable it's the 1 from maplin and so is the serial to usb connector. still cant get the 4.51 firmware downloaded to the box the percentage bar just doesn't move at all so cant flash the box
