I know nothing about video cards other than the fact that I need a newer one.

Anyone know how to go about doing this.

The one I have now is a NVIDIA GEFORCE 2 MX
And from what I understand, it is an AGP.

The pc i have is a Sony Vaio pcv-mxs20.
I don't play games or anything, I just want something simple and inexpensive that will run most new programs.
ie: when I load something like Intervideo Media Center, the program goes haywire, same with media portal media center.

    Please help!

hmm that card is terrible... if you have a free pci slot u could go for an nvidia geforce fx 5500.. thats what i got.. lemme search a good card for you *searching*... here ya go buddy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143032
its the best pci card you'll ever find.. especially for that price ^_^ now.. if u wanna run more new programs u might want to upgrade your ram, and consider getting a better processor, unless the one u have is good =]
