I just got a new acer aspire desktop pc on windows vista, with a built in flash card reader.
Is the flash card supposed to appear when its inserted into the card slot, or do I need to download software first.
I have an sd flash card and nothing happens when I insert it in the pc.

I tried my usb reader/writer and that works in the usb port, but not the built in flash card reader slots?
    Anyone know why?

Does the built-in card reader support the SD format?

There will be additional drives in my computer, probably several, e.g.:

    Removable disk (A:)
    Local Disk (C:)
    CD-ROM Drive (D:)
    Removable disk (E:)
    Removable disk (F:)
    Removable disk (G:)
    Removable disk (H:)
It is these four at the bottom (it may be more or less than four, but usually more than one) you're looking for. If they're not there, either you need to install a driver or the reader is faulty. One would hope they are actually connected inside! If they are, but all of them say "please insert disk" when you double-click on them, then either the card is faulty, the card isn't supported, or the reader is faulty.
