Hello, Can someone try and point me in the right direction. I have just bought a HDTV, and in its spec it states that the max resolution it can achieve is 1366x768. I have tried in every way I can to get my pc to go to that resolution but when I try it says that its not supported. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
How is the PC connected. Sometimes you can match the Res properly through DVI, sometimes you need HDMI. But I doubt you will match it via VGA. There is a program called powerstrip that will make your PC match almost any res but I have never used it and I'm told it could be a tricky thing to do. your risk.
Its VGA and I dont think my graphics card has a HDMI port (although the tv does). I have powerstrip installed but it doesnt do anything different from my display options. I can set it to ignore my screens resolution and try 1360x768 but my monitor just says it cant support it (with a blue screen).
Okay according to the spec the highest the monitor will allow on VGA is 1024*768, is there any way at all to make it higher?
Thats not the case. My video card can reach much higher resolutions on my other monitors. This is a TV problem that I want to try and bypass.
Sorry, I thought we were talking about a PC problem towards the end... LOL. If that's all your TV handles, that's all it handles. Bare in mind that VGA is still analog, and it will never be as good as DVI or HDMI which are digital. Keep in mind also that I am not an expert and I could be wrong.
