Sky One and Sky Sports 2 missing

I have a Starview box and Virgin (was NTL) cable, I just wondered if Sky One and Sky sports two were completley unavailable or weather they are hidden somewhere in the menu. Any ideas?

 

You cannot get Sly One with the Starview in the UK, only S*y have it.
S*y Sports two can be found by inputting this ferquency 411.000 on a manual scan.

 

I have done the manual scan but it only finds 19 programmes :-

TV
Adult channel nightly
Price Drop TV
MTV Dance
Alpha
TV752 (which is adult nightly)

and then the rest are radio.
Am I right in searching 411.000/6887

 

Yes that is correct. What version of firmware have you got? Press menu and system info, this will tell you.

Is it a clone or genuine box? Click the link at the end of my post, Starview Info Dobby2oon, then click clones. This will tell you if you have a genuine or clone box, as your firmware needs to be updated.

 

Seems to add up with all your genuine photos, can't get channel 4 or the new channel 4 + 1 since I started re-scanning either.

 

There seems to be problems on the VM network itself and it usually sorts itself out. I would still advise you to update your firmware to version 4 as there are problems with the version you have.

Go to the link at the end of my post "Eamos FTA Library". Download the Starview Guide this will tell you how to flash your box. After you have read the guide you will find the loader and version 4 firmware in the same link.

Right I've got my female to female 9 pin lead going from the starview box into my computer but when I double click on downloading it never gets off 0% then about 20 seconds after says flash failed. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like you have the wrong lead both RS232 9 pin leads look the same. Looks like you have a straight through lead when you need a 9 pin null modem cable which has a cross over configuration.

You need a lead like this one:

Quick bit of info for you VM have moved the channels around. So while you are waiting on your new lead, do an autoscan and your missing channels will appear at the bottom of your channel list named TV***, (*** indicates a number).

You may have to do an autoscan more than once to pick them up in your area.

Eventually got the right lead and updated to version 4 successfully but still no sky sports 2. Never mind i'll just keep rescanning. Thanks anyway.

 

Have you looked at the channel named TV409?
