    Hello again,

I was hoping someone could help me with the normally easiest of tasks.

My DVD recorder wont pick up any channels when I do an automatic search through the recorder.

I have the DVD connected with a scart and back to the tv with a scart lead also.

The DVD will pick up my normal eleven channels when I by-pass the dbox and plug the coax cable straight into the DVD.

    I'm using a nokia dbox 2 on Sportster 1.7 X2.

Is there some setting I've to play with. I've tried tried switching the audio options like I've read previous to RGB+CVBS.

    Any suggestions???

I dunno if this will help , You have the DVD connected to the TV by Scart and the Dbox connected to the TV by scart , have you got the DVD and Dbox connected together by another scart ?

    I've done all that mate.

Even tried using rf coax cables.

Even tried putting the dbox tv output to the DVD recorders input to try find the channels on the DVD recorder.

Maybe my recorder is not able to pick up the dbox output because it is not of the 'RGB' type. The manual just gives PAL/SECAM in the tuners spec and I dont see anywhere to change this setting.

I just checked the way mine is connected

I have the DVD connected to the TV by Scart and the SV connected to the TV by scart , I have the DVD and SV connected together by another scart , I also have the rf coax going from the SV to DVD , I never had to scan the DVD recorder for channels as I work of the SV through the AV2 and just choose scart , Hope im not confusing you

    Cheers Celtic71,

That sounds exactly how I have mine set up.

I thought I'd have to tune my DVD for use when I want to preset a station to record when I'm not there to select the channel for it.

Thats how I did it with all my video+ vcr's.

I think I've tried everything at this stage.

Thanks again for all your time and consideration.

You can only record whichever channel that you have selected on your dbox, therefore you select the channel you want to record on your dbox, this is connected to your dvd recorder (by scart or whatever), you select the input on your dvd recorder that the dbox is connected to and then you record.

You cannot tune in all the channels that are on the dbox on your dvd recorder (or else you would not need a dbox at all!!).

If you want to preset the dvd recorder to record something from your dbox, you set it to record on whichever input your dbox is on, and then 'schedule' the program you want to record on your dbox. The dbox will then switch to the appropriate channel at the time the program is on, and the dvd recorder will record whatever is coming out of the dbox.

    Hope this helps/explains.
