dvd decrypter make HP with XP crash

#1 31 Jul 2002 @ 9:24
Most of the time when I use dvd decypter, my
computer shuts down and then reboots. I get an error message that contains 'minidump'.
Each minidump that I checked out opens up in dvd decrypter. HP said there was a patch for this, lie.

You tried downloading the XP Updates from the M$ website, and also what version of Decrypter are you using?

Whats your PC Setup, DVD burner etc?

I have a HP540n computer with XP home. I have kept up with the updates. There may have been 3 that I didn't bother with. I have a cd burner and a HP200i dvd burner(dvd+r & dvd+rw). I believe I was using the newest version of dvd decrypter.
I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. dRD was trying to help me, but to no avail. I downloaded the trail version of nero 5590 for burning and I purchased Record Now Max. When I would go to burn a dvd, I'm told that the disc is full. I have formatted and erased a dozen times to get the same answer. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have read the posts in the forum dating back to mid-May. I'm totally confused. Please help me. Thank you.

What were the 3 updates you didn't bother with?

Have you tried uninstalling DVD Decrypter, and reinstalling it - indeed downloading it again and setting it up from scratch?

When I reformatted a short while ago, I didn't
download all the updates and since then they of course came up with more. I have all the drivers and critical updates now. The only ones that I didn't download are:
Euro Conversion Tool
Q282010-Microsoft Jet 4.0
Microsoft Net Framework
Resuming From Standby
Keyboard
Messenger Auto Update
UPS and Remote Assistance.
I have totally cleaned out my computer and uninstalled and re-installed dvd decrypter a half a dozen times.

Have you tried using something like Smartripper rather than DVD Decrypter - if it still crashes then we can possibly attribute the blame to hardware and not software, but if it works it may be a driver or something conflicting with DVD Decrypter.

Yes, I tried several times. At first I got the start button but not any longer. What kind of hardware are you talking about? HP told me to go to Microsoft and find a file called Q251723 and download it. I can't find it anywhere.
