i recently d/l a 732mn imgae.nrg file. i tried burning it with nero: open nero, go to "burn image", choose the image file.

now here's the problem: a little window comes up, at the top i can choose "type of image" -> data mode 1, data mode 2, audio or HFS. below that is the setting, with block size and some other stuff. there are 2 options under block size: 2352 and 2048.

the image is a psx game, and i remember reading somewhere that i should choose data mode 2. when i do that, it automatically choose 2352 and checked "raw data" box. however when i click on ok, it tells me that "the entered block size does not correspond to the image length. the block size maybe wrong."

i tried both data mode 1 and 2, and both values for data block size, but i keep getting this error. is there a way i can fix this? please help me, thank you.

    1. Convert the image to another format which is a little more useful like BIN/ISO
    2. Open the image up in CDMage or ISOBuster to ascertain the true mode/sector sizes for the image.

To convert a wierd cd image file format to a more familiar format (i.e., BIN/CUE), open up CDMage, drag-and-drop the wierd file into it. It will pop-up a box for you to specify the format; simple trial and error will resolve this minor hurdle. Now when that is done, File --> Save As. Give it a name and it will save the BIN/CUE for ya.

To convert a wierd cd image file format to a more familiar format (i.e., ISO, BIN/CUE), open up WinISO goto the Convert menu and sleect the "Other Image Format" option. Select the source file (the werid cd image file) and give it a final name. WinISO will convert the image to a ISO for you. If you prefer a BIN then when this is done, goto the Convert menu and select ISO to BIN and repeat the same.

    hi there,
thank you very much for the information. however, it seems like there's a problem with the file itself.
when i drag it into cdmage, an error pops up saying "invalid format of file"
when i open it up with winiso and try to convert it, it says "access violation at address 004b91c1 in module 'winiso.exe'. read of address 0bb8feac."
also i noticed that even though the size of the file is over 700 mb, at the bottom of the winiso window it shows that only 31% of it is used, so only 220mb of data.
so.... does all these failures mean that it's sth wrong with the image itself?
