external hdd problem

every time i try to open my external hard drive but evrytime i do it asks me to format and i dont wanna format cuz i have A LOT of stuff on there. also its calling it a local disk rather than seagate which is what its usually called

 

Have you tried opening it on a different computer?

 

not recently but i bring to my g/f's house every weekend and it opens fine but ill try again on the downstairs computer

 

ok i just tryed the hard drive on another computer i get the same thing so what happened to it i was just using it the other day and i didnt even move newhere it just startyed doin this for no reason. i really hope theres a way to save the data on there cuz i had crap loads of stuff on there

 

ok can i plz get a response i really don't want to lose everything on the hdd
