    Can anyone help..!?

l seem to be able to burn avi files ok and they seem to play perfectly until you reach the end of the movie. lt goes a bit wonky then cuts off. I'm sure this is just due to the avi file being too big and writing too far near the edge of the disc.

Anyone know the best way to compress an avi movie file? Software that compresses then burns would be even better but to just compress alone would be absolute gold..!!

    Ta much.

You have made four separate posts with essentially the same question.
The wrath of the Moderators is hovering.

If the AVI is being burned to the edge of a DVD disk then it would have to be over 4GB in size. That's a huge AVI.
Or do you mean that the AVI is being converted to DVD format, then burned to disk?

I'm new to this, sorry for the duplicate postings. I'm not exactly sure what l'm doing or where is best to post.

The avi files l am trying to burn are usually no more than 950mb. l'v been using Nero 7 Ultra edition to burn them. The movies are picture perfect until just before the end. They then go a bit sticky then cut off so you would always miss the ending. Nero seems to take quite a while to burn which also concerns me. l seem to be able to compress and burn any other file format l'v come across but this one has me stuck.

Do you think l should just try to burn the avi with different software? Which would you recommend? I'v tried Image burn, DVD Decrypter and DVD Fab but non of these support avi. l tried converting the avi to an iso as l could then use DVD shrink and burn from there but the various software l'v tried had problems creating the audio files.

    Any idea.?

Thanks for helping me out :)

It sounds like a media quality issue - generally Nero will warn you if the size of the output exceeds the capacity of a DVD-5.

Save the output from Nero to the hard disk.
Use your media player to play them and be satisfied that there is no problem.
If they are ok, using quality disks ('Verbatim' or something that is made in Japan'), try ImgBurn to burn the files from the folder (this is only to get Nero out of the picture)

    http://www.imgburn.com/

    Run ImgBurn
    Click 'Mode' > 'Build'
    Click 'Output' > 'Device'
Click 'File' > 'Browse for Folder', highlight on the 'VIDEO_TS' folder, > 'OK'
Set burning speed to 4x and click the green write button.
