I'm looking to buy an external burner. I want a drive that is going to burn high compatibility dvd's, and a minimum amount of coaters. I plan on using high quality media(Verbatim).

Anyway I'm looking for something around $60-$75. Best Buy has a Pioneer DVR-X122S6 for $65. Is this a good one? Also I want one where you can change the book type. Any input and suggestions will be greatly apreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi jjahn
Pioneer is a good drive but doesn't booktype right out of the box. You'd need to find patched firmware for it do booktype if one is available. Pioneer is still a good drive though.

Another good one that booktypes right out of the box is LiteOn. Right now newegg.com only has 1 model (don't counting the 8x slim one) - link
