follow the instructions here for beryl http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-beryl-with-latest-nvidia-drivers-in-ubuntu-feisty-fawn.html and for the network stuff. just open your network settings and manualy enter an ip address subnet mask and dns servers and it should work unless you are using wireless the you will need to do some other things
