Lately I've been downloading HD movies with the extensions; .mp4, .wmv and .avi... I think they are Blu Ray and HD DVD rips, and converting them with Nero 7 to AVCHD for playback on my PS3. Unfortunately most of the movies out there are .mkv files which Nero isn't compatible with, is there software that can work with .mkv files while maintaining the HD resolution and 5.1 surround sound?
Nifty program but it doesn't maintain the High Def resolution after the conversion. I want high definition movie on a DVD5 that is playable in my Blu Ray player (PS3). I've done it with mp4's and avi's but no luck with mkv's, oh well. Maybe Nero 8 can handle mkv's, whenever it get's released... it's on pre-order right now. Thanks, anyway. Chris.
