is a higher level AMD processor really worth it?

I'm doing a builder computer here...first ever. I have a general knowlege of computers but more than the average person. I would just like some of your input on this question. I'm going to put an AMD Athlon 64 x2 processor in the computer, but i narrowed it down to either the AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400 or the Athlon 64 x2 5000. I was just wondering if it is worth the extra $40(tigerdirect.com pricing) for all of the extra....whatever processors have? I plan on using this computer for a general game here and there, nothing too high end, Photoshop, to manage my Zune, and regular everyday use. thanks

Did you already buy the motherboard? If not go for a Intel Core 2 Duo system. Check out tomshardware's CPU charts.
