ok i had a bunch of left over parts from my old computer, enough so that i decided to try to build them into a shoebox (lol, now i have everything set up and the fan comes on but all i get is a black screen i checked the monitor wire and the vid card are fine so ne ideas? and now for the next question i put in a nic card with one port if i connect the cable wire to the ethernet port on the mobo will the nic card be able to give me access on another computer?
when you turn the computer on does it beep once means its fine any more than once means on error for the first question try disconnecting all cables to drives. remove all cards except videocard. reseat the videocard & ram. make certain the cmos jumper is in default position according to motherboard manual. for your second question i don't know
