I have Nero Burning CD 5.5 on my PC and have had it on there and used it with no problems. I recently got a new mobo, cpu, and ram for my system, and had to reinstall WIN XP Prof to get it to work with my new system. Here is what has happened: -Go to run Nero and it asks for the CD key again, which I find in an old .log file in \Ahead. -Go to make an audio CD out of some mp3's and it gives me an error that reads "Cannot find the Nero plugin manager. Please reinstall Nero." -No problem! I got to reinstall Nero, and the installation says there is a previous version that needs to be removed, click on Remove to do this. When I click on Remove it says that the Wizard was interrupted and to hit cancel. So I can't reinstall Nero. -I have even tried to reinstall Nero6 and get the same "remove the old version, oops! can't remove it!" situation. I have also tried removing the whole \Ahead dir from my pc and still get the same results. So my question is how do I get Nero off of my computer WITHOUT the uninstaller?? Is there somewhere I can JUST d/l the uninstaller? Thank you anyone for your input!!
I'm not sure how Win XP is set up since I don't use it, but I guess it has something like Windows explorer on it. Navigate to the drive where Nero was and then delete any file or folders that say Ahead or Nero. Check inside the programs folder also.
1. Check the Add/remove under Control Panel 2. Go through the registry and delete every key related to Ahead 3. Well that's where your uninstaller was. I dont think it will work but if you want, leave me your email addy in a PM and I'll send you the uninstaller (hehe this is funny... me sending someone an uninstaller hehe)
