    Hiya!
So I have a fujitsu siemens amilo laptop, operating system XP, six months old. Last week the screen started to act funny, aka: didn't turn itself off, although accordingly power settings it should turn off after 15mins. It just goes black for a second or two, and returns to desktop. Same happens when I try to turn it off via keyboard. (screensaver starts after 3mins)
I checked the bios settings, they're on default, and the control panel power settings should be ok.

If anyone knows what might cause this, and if there's anything to be done without formatting/ taking the laptop back to the store, please drop a note. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A possible reason may be, a piece of your hardware is set to keep your laptop active.

I think you can change this through Device Manager.
