When you burn a Video clip onto dvd disc from the Hard Drive within the dvd recorder. What format is it when it burns onto the dvd disc??

done one lastnight and went to watch it on a normal dvd player in the bedroom but didn't work, not 100% sure what format its in.

    any help would be great

    thanx

This happens a lot, but I don't know why. I've heard a lot of people complain about this very thing.
I have a Gateway recorder (without a hard drive), and the dvds I burn on it will not play in my Pioneer player, nor either one of my PC drives. They will play in my stepfather's cheap $30 player though.
    Go figure............

"Finalize" the disc before you try to see it on another unit.
Use DVD+RW for any kind of experiment.

    I don't know about Gary_uk21, but I do finalize.
The fact that they play in my stepfather's $30 player, shows that....
