Downloaded an avi file - it plays the audio but no video! what do i do?

Hi.

Check with VirtualDub the avi:s video stream info.
Open VirtualDub/select the avi/go to filen/select file information.

Check the "video stream" options and get back here and write down the info the i perhaps can help you.
