    Hi,

I want to back up a DVD which I own, but I'm confused about how to burn it to a DVD-R disc.

I have DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, and I want to be able to play back the DVD on my standard domestic DVD player (Toshiba), in the original quality (or maybe slightly lower).

Can anyone advise what I need to do?

    Thanks in advance.

Rip DVD with DVDFab HD Decrypter (instead of DVD Decrypter).

Run program, insert disk, select 'Main Movie' or 'Full Disk'
(Full disk keeps the menu and extras)

    http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

Load the output folder into DVD Shrink.

Click 'Backup' and elect to burn with 'DVD Decrypter'
Then burn at 4x on Verbatim disks ;)

    Thanks for the feedback.

That definitely seems to be a good option, but ideally I don't want to buy any additional software, so if possible, I'd like to it with free software.

Are there any solutions out there?

    That's the free version.
