I am having an issue with outputting video on two different monitors using my nVidia GeForce 7600GT on my HP Media PC.

This card has two DVI outputs which is outputting using a DVI-VGA (or whatever the old school blue monitor plug is called) to an older normal aspect ratio (4:3 not the new widescreen monitors) flatscreen lcd computer monitor and using a DVI-HDMI cable to go to my widescreen 42" HDTV.

The problem is the software that came loaded (nVidia Control Panel) can't seem to independently configure the resolution so that it looks good on both. It automatically detects my 720p HDTV and outputs 1280x720 on both. My TV looks amazing and my computer (being 4:3) is horizontally squished looking.

Anyone have any solutions to change the resolution for each? I've tried every combo of settings under Personilization and the nVidia Control Panel. I'm running Vista 32-bit if it helps.

    Thanks guys!

Oh btw, for those that are familiar. I am selecting the "clone" option in nVidia Control Panel because I want them both to show the same desktop, internet sites etc.

A solution I suppose would be to do the dual view, but I don't like how my TV just shows up as a wallpaper. That doesn't help when I want to hit the Media Center button on my remote and watch full screen movies (which are then outputted on my primary monitor which is NOT the tv...)

Maybe I just don't know how to configure applications to show up on the secondary monitor instead of the second one?
