starview remote

can a universal remote be used on the starview,if so which one would be recomended,i have the old urc 7040 one for all remote but there is no code in the manual

i bought one and could not get it to work as what is on remote was not the same as on box dvb/c.
ebay search for starview remotes are for sale

The remote i used was a one for all urc 7950 it cost €30,the code was under technomate 1610
