According to figures from the NPD group, Nintendo's home console, Wii, and handheld console, DS, have maintained their strong sales in the U.S. during the month of August. not exactly a surprise as most serious gaming ppl have a pc and a wii for fun. imo its only kids that have consoles these days until they can figure out how to manage a pc system, and with the ps3 being £425 its the same cost as a mid ranged pc and the 360 is all pc games.

i have a wii for fun and a pc for real gameing. the online is better and games cheaper

As far as Wii gets titles such as PES or WE it will remain being nº 1 in sales!!! jajaj

Well the question is who is going to beat them probably they will come up with another console from Nintendo and beat themselves and then the other two will be left way behind.

Yeah, that's my theory. Once Sony gains some steam and is neck-and-neck with MS, Nintendo will release a next-gen system with all of the novelties that made the Wii so much fun. Totally blow them out of the water :-P

People play consoles because they don't want to have to upgrade graphics cards and ram and processors every other year. With a console you know that you dont have to upgrade hardware for ~7 years and that makes them well worth the money.
