    there is no risk at all in updating the firmware , it is always a good idea to keep up with the latest firmwares so that you dont have any trouble with newer games .

    I'm also having the same exact problem with MySims. I downloaded the v1.11, copied and pasted it onto my Micro SD card. When I turn on the DS and try to load it, it says something in Chinese and won't go to the menu. HELP! Thanks in advance!

    @jeff415

    hello , first of all what flash card are you using ie. r4ds , m3ds simply etc...................

    and what version is it english or chinese ?

    it just sounds like you are trying to put the wrong firmware on for your flash card.

    I have the Chinese version of the R4DS. I tried to update it with the English v1.11. Is it possible for me to update it with an English version? I can't read Chinese =P woof811, where would I get an update that would work for my R4DS? I went to the official website (R4DS.com) and they had an English, French, and Korean version. HELP! I wanna play MySims! =P

    Hmmm...I just downloaded that link and unzipped it. But all access is denied. I can't open up the "README" or the folder itself. Any other links?

    The file name is English 1.11 for Chinese R4, it is the English firmware patched to run on the Chinese R4, if you need Chinese on an English card I'd be happy to do that too. :p

    Be sure to delete the old _DS_MENU.SYS, your card will create a new one.
