I have never had a cd burner before and I wish to buy a new computer. I have a few questions, can someone help? 1)to burn a copy of a pc game, do you have to have one cd rom drive and a cd-rw drive? 2)Is a 40x/10x/40 Max cd-rw drive better than a 24x/10x/40 Max cd-rw drive? Any help is appreciated....
Hi. Q1:No,you don´t have to have cd-drive and cd-rw drive.One cd-rw drive is ok .You can copy the game cd to HD and then copy it to your cd-r. Q2ifference between the Cd-Rw drives you talk about is that the 40X reads faster nothing else i think.

On a new computer, I suggest getting a eight or ten bay case(that is, front panels), a hefty 500-watt power supply, and an ATA-card to allow eight IDE devices. I would install three Lite-on CDRW-drives. Lite-Ons are as good as any other and far cheaper, and one can buy them for as low as $50. I would also add a CD-DVD playback drive. (The 500-watt power supply does not use any more power than that of a 250-watt power supply when idling) Games have the most difficult protections to circumvent when copying. Often when Copying-Burning a game, one will Copy-Burn at low speeds, say 4X, to get a good successful copy. One ofen copies the CD as a CD-image first to the harddrive (say, using CloneCD) --- to insure that one gets a good copy. And then copies the image to the new CD. Thus, lots of time can be involved. The reason for three burners is that almost all burning softwares will now handle three CDRW-drives. When one copies a game CD, one often wants more than one copy. When making music CDs, one often makes several copies. Burning three CDs at once sure saves hours and hours of time
