Hi I have two processors 1 intel celeron 2.0ghz or 1.6 ghz peentium 4 which one should i use i also have 1 gig of ram 320gb hard drive dual boot vista and xp and a ati radeon 9550
really and why? oh and can someone help me with over clocking i have looked everywhere but he guides say you need special software stuff like that
Just a better performing CPU. Remember it's not the clock cycles but the architecture. You don't really need special software for overclocking, as long as you have a motherboard that supports it.
Your PC is very old (I'm going to guess about 3 1/2 to 4 years) to be a good overclocker. Overclocking has become standard fare. Was the PC custom-built or did it come from a retailer like Dell, Gateway, Viglen etc. ?
I built it when i was ten and i didnt know anything then so since then it got a new hdd dvd burner graphic card and motherboard and how bout a1.4ghz or celeron this time for my friend
Agreed, but there's not that much in it, and both are pretty slow nowadays. What may swing it is if the Celeron is a Northwood. The P4 is probably a Willamette core at that speed, if the Celeron is a Northwood core, it may very well be faster.
Both Northwood, or just the celeron? If the celeron's a northwood and the P4's a willamette, go with the celeron.
