just recently bought a used toshiba laptop.

didn't get any disks or anything with it. the laptop is locked with the old users profile and i can't get passed the fingerprint scan application.

is there a way to bypass the fingerprint scan or use an application to curtail it?

or is there somewhere i can dwld the boot disk to also bypass? or is there another way to get around the lock? possibly in the bios?

    please reply asap.

Get a copy of windows. Wipe the drive clean, I think the fingerprint is only to get into windows.

Yeah a reformat will be fine. As long as you have the model number the drivers should be easy to find on the Toshiba website.

Unless you have important data on it, a clean format will give you better performance anyway.

it's actually my friends laptop which i'm fixing.

i should add that i'm not sure whether it gives me the option to enter the bios prior to the fingerprint scan.

if i'm unable to get to bios, what can i do then? i'm just trying to cover all bases.

i don't have the cpu yet so i can't check.
