    HI all
I want to connect my Dell inspiron 1501 laptop to my Philips 42" LCD for the purpose of watching movies. (not neccessarily in high def).
The laptop only has VGA and I have just bought a 12ft VGA to 3 Component cable off Ebay (awaiting delivery). The laptop has an Ati Radeon Express 1150.
    My Questions are:
    1. Will it work?
    2. Will I need a seperate audio cable?
    3. I've heard people mention Vga to component "converters", does a vga to component cable do any neccessary converting?
    4. Would I get hd display if I was playing a hd movie/tv programme on the laptop either from disc or download?

    Thanks

    Jarvis
