I gotta tell ya this whole download manager thing has got me in the weeds. I haven't a clue how to tweak the settings for this software or even how to use it. Have spent hours trying to figure out how this is supposed to work but not much luck.
I have a fast enough computer but a slooooow connection. I try to download from Rapidshare through Flashget but not so much luck. It doesn't seem any faster and it seems the connection drops pretty quickly.
One tweak is to enter your own proxy address to speed things up... yeah that sounds great but what is a proxy address and where does one find one?
I have taught myself all sorts of things on the computer and can do a lot but haven't a clue about this.
The "advertisement" offered by Flashget says it solves two basic downloading problems: Slow downloads and managing downloads when the connection is lost. Well for me it hasn't solved either issue.
Any help would be appreciated
