Hi, I just bought an external samsung dual layer dvd writer, and was trying to burn an xbox 360 game to a blank dl dvd+r. I did everything right, I think: saved the .ISO, created a .dvd file with the layer break info, set the layerbreak on IMGBurn to 1913760, and started burning. Then IMGBurn burns the image (100% completion), and, in "verify" mode, the following message appears at the 50% mark:
I/O ERROR!
DEVICE [0.0.0] TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M SB05 (E: USB)
SciStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition
CDB: 28 00 00 1D 33 A0 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) – Sector: 1913760
Sense Area: 70 00 04 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 3E 02 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Timeout on Logical Unit

When I insert the dvd into the xbox360, it says something like "invalid disk"
What am I doing wrong??? I already wasted 2 dl dvds and they aren´t exactly cheap!

try burning one with the verify box unchecked as i never do that with mine, i just let it burn finalise an its done. also check to see if the firmware on the writer is up to date, that can help

what media are you using?
the make of the dl dvd's is quite a factor, also, try not to use your computer while burning.

i have a strange situation where i can only use Verbatim DL Dvd's - expensive for me, but any other media results in a nice shiny new coaster for my collection.

What software are you making the ISO with?

I presume you have downloaded the latest versions of the software you use!? I find I can use any burner if I make the ISO with Schtrom and burn with Imgburn and Verbatim DVDs. I do not verify either as it takes too long and I left all other default options as they were - I did not change any of the things you mentioned.

One last thing, unlike many other people here, I burn on the lowest speed I can (old PS1 & PS2 habit) and I have never had a duff game :)

Good luck m8!

Ive got a sony AW-G170A burner (mate of mine uses one with no coasters) and its running as the primary master on the secondary IDE channel. i extracted the .iso/.dvd using Schtrom version 3.3. I kept the task as whole disc (stealth extreme 3.0 splitvid), and used a sammy for the extraction.

Im using Aone discs (with i think are rebaged RICOH discs) and again i know these work as my mate with the same burner has no problems (a coaster in 10, i think he said), but i have also had 2 coasters using Verbs. Using ImgBurn 2.3.2.0 I always get the same error. Half way through verification (just as it goes from one layer to the next) and i get the error below.

for the thread starter - it looks like u did everything just fine except set the booktype ...

click the book icon on the bottom right corner of the ImgBurn program and select ur drive, click the "Change for" drop down menu and select DL media, then select "DVD-Rom" from the New Setting drop down menu ... click the "Change" button ... click OK on the popup window then Ok on the book type menu - burn the game ...

if you did this exactly as i said, ur burner is updated and your game still doesnt work then your 360 probably isnt flashed properly ...

(or the game is crap, but if u downloaded a scene rls then this probably isnt the case)

Same problem here, Ive been burning 360 discs for awhile now with this burner and Ritek DL discs. Always at 2X. Ive done over 40 games no problems ever. Now all the sudden ImgBurn wont work for squat. Constantly gives that error in the beginning, nothing changed, even updated DVD Firmware for shitzngiggle (even though it was perfectly fine for the previous burns with same exact media)

Oddly enough I can use Xbox Backup Creator and select Nero to burn the game and it works fine (funny it use to fail, whole reason why I went to ImgBurn back in the day!)

I see lots of people posting this problem all the sudden and no real suggestions or fixes yet as to why it all the sudden started up! ITS A CONSPIRACY I TELL YA!

Well i tried using Nero burning rom and i still got the same TOC error. I personally think it has to be the drive. i also went out and purchased a Optiarc DVD RW AD 7170A and it burns the images from Imgburn fine but its burning unreadable disks. IT'S BURNING 100% ERROR FREE let imgburn tell it and then the xbox can't read it? Please SOMEONE HEEEEEELP!!

Ok UPDATE, now tell me this crap isnt weird.... If I open the ISO/DVD file straight to IMGBurn I get the errors listed above. If I use Xbox Backup Creator and select it to use IMGBurn, the damn thing works fine... WTH! After 40 games (for 360 alone) not counting the timeless other things Ive used IMGBurn for its acting all retarded!!!

Sigh, at least its working somewhat for now....

You don't have need the .dvd file if you already set the layerbreak in imgburn, just burn the iso.

I know I dont need it but Ive just always used it and its always worked until recently (and when I say always I mean since my 360 was first hacked well over a 6 months ago).

Ah well guess its a problem I'll have to deal with as I see no where on the web has any clue or fix been figured out for this error on any site.

This same thing is happening to me and I am also getting the same error message. I am using IMGBurn and I have a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111DBK. I tried to follow pilferd's advice about changing the book type but that is when the problem arises. I have 8 different tabs to choose from (Samsung, RICOH, Plextor, Nu Tech, NEC, LITE-ON, LG, and BenQ), when I try to select any DL media under ANY of the tabs the message in the current settings reads, "Unknown (FAILED!)". So needless to say I cannot change the book type to "DVD-Rom" from the New Setting drop down menu. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions as to what I can do to fix this so I can burn my game?

I have the exact same problem gets to 50% verify then fails.

I even brought a new dvd writer pioneer 112d with latest firmware

but still the same problem.

sometimes it will work and sometimes it wont.

the game always burns fine but most of the time fails to verify

someone must know the answer to this?
