I downloaded a game (Simcity 4 if you were wondering) and It came in 8 parts -
    SC4 CD1.001
    SC4 CD1.002
    SC4 CD1.003
    Sc4 CD1.crc
    SC4 CD2.001
    SC4 CD2.002
    SC4 CD2.003
    Sc4 CD2.crc
(I know what the .001, .002, .003 files are BTW)

The problem is that WinRar doesnt extract the files like it should.
When you extract the .001 file, instead of also extracting the .002 and .003 files, it only extracts the files in the .001 file. The files in the .001 also aren't ISO files and after trying to join them with Hjsplit which failed I tried opening them individually in winrar, it came up with the errror
*no archives found in selected files or folders*

    Anyone know whats wrong?

Winrar will always unpack a valid file regardless. Winrar will always unpack ALL files from a single file in the download. There is no need to unpack EACH file individually. Select the first file and ALL others will be unpacked automatically. Any difficulty is mostly attributable to the RAR file uploader-packer!

    Howd you go?

I know thats what SHOULD happen, but it doesnt. The thing is, the total size of all the downloaded parts is around 1.25gb and after extraction, the files I get are only 450mb.

After you have unpacked CD-1 and CD-2, can you install the game?

The problem is that it won't unpack properly so I can't install the game.

Ok, so lets take a back step. As i mentioned before, the most likely culprit could be the up-loader, so can you get the said files from elsewhere?

As you can appreciate, human error can often stuff things up royally. If you cannot source the files elsewhere, then delete the files you have and re-download. Don't forget to run a CLEANER like CCleaner 2.01.507 (it's freeware) use it in Issues mode and follow the prompts. Be mindfull of making a restart after you have run the cleaner, THEN re-download the files.

    Howd you get on?
