Nero illegal disc error

    Hello i have seen this has been discussed before but i tried the firmware update but if i open any firmware flash to update my firmware it says Target drive is not found.

    and if i try to burn a image ( .iso ) it says illegal disc error i am using platinum dvd -r 8x i even tried +r 8x

    Hi souroush
    Try this firmware for your drive - 1.16.

    The platinum dvd your using are made by CMC - not the best. Better media to use would be Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or made in japan Sony, Fuji or maxell. I'd stick w/ 8x or lower on this drive too - since it's an older drive that hasn't had any firmware updates in a few years newer media like 16x might be hit or miss.

    You also have 84% of your memory in use. Close any unneeded programs when burning.

    thanks for your reply but i tried to install but it says: target didn't find any device so i can't install it ?

    Ok did this drive come w/ the pc? If it did who is the pc manufacturer?
    They're probably the ones supporting the firmware on it.
