I accidentally locked a 200GB Maxtor hard drive in my computer (wanted to use it with XBOX) and now it won't unlock. IDK if i am typing in the wrong password of if it cut off part of the password I set. Is there any way I could get a master password or erase the password with the drive? I don't need the data on the drive.

I think your drive is hosed. This happens to maxtors in Tivos as well. Maxtor will not help you, they will say their warranty does not cover use outside of a PC. Basically, the firmware is fried.

Actually, I called Maxtor (Segate now) and they agreed to RMA the current drive. I guess I was lucky there.
