ive got a nvidia 8600gts and whenever i play games for long time i get this weird tiny stripes on screen and lightning effects which look really bad. i tell the pc to go into standby mode , then startup again all is fine. this always happens with xp but with vista it rarely happens at all that i can remember. It always when i play games where the problem comes up. I have tried a million drivers for it from the latest nvidia, omega, 3dguru. literally every driver out there. I kept looking on the internet about this problem and finally found someone on youtube with exact same problem. But they didnt say what caused it. Link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx5SCHFztjU# They are using a 8600 gt which is close enough to the 8600 gts of mine. Hoping people on this forum could assist me. THANKYOU PEOPLE Jez
Your card is artifacting. Did you overclock it at all? Also, it could be overheating. What are the temps? When you download the drivers and install them, are you sure you install them correctly? make sure you completly uninstall the drivers before you install the new ones.
thx waymon, sammorris .did all what you said. ive got rid of card now and using my onboard graphics which are fairly good for what im playing but i have come accross a problem. The onboard graphics is set to 224mb and when i play fifa 08 at max spec it plays it fine but when i play command and conquer tiberium wars it plays it faultlessly but a while into game it exits the game for no reason. i have put zonealarm on gamemode so it accepts all programs when playing a game. My friend had the same problem but with his graphics card and doesnt have it any more. He doesnt know how it got fixed. I'm sure many other people have come accross this problem, does anyone know how to fix it? THANKS PEOPLE
once again, probably overheating. Also, if you're playing Command and conquer generals TW then it must not be at the highest settings because you wouldnt be able to play it on high with a on board gfx card.
ive put it on all low settings for tiberium wars but still same. and ive checked the onboard heat it isnt overheating at all. there must be a patch or something to fix it?
Is it actually supported? A lot of games don't let you use integrated graphics simply because of their low specs, so consequently even if the game runs at first, it may crash and they won't offer support if it does.
i did the test on system requirements lab and it failed on the vertex shader 1.1 as it hasnt got it. but the rest i have is fine it says. like the 224mb, 3d acceleration and pixel shader all i have. i wanna know can you overclock onboard graphics?
Yeah, the X1900XT is what I recommend, partly because I own one and it's fantastic, plus it's a higher spec card.
