In keeping its word earlier this year that it would push the HD DVD format through sales of its computer equipment, Toshiba Corp. has announced the new Satellite brand A205 laptop that comes equipped with a HD DVD drive. I hate watching movies on a computer... and only 1.5GHz? What?

1.5 that wont even run My unix system. $600 HD-DVD drive thats what it is who cares about a drive in a computer that can barly run it

Hell the minimum for watching a dvd on a regular computer is 350MHZ
With a good grafix card

Sure its "only" but its got a Core2Duo.

Even though its only 1.5GHz thats plenty to watch HD DVD movies. I don't think they would have included 2GB of RAM and a 200GB HDD if the processor couldn't handle it. Personally I would have gone ~2GHz however, the lowest level processor on the Dell XPS M1730 (Dell's gaming laptop) is only 2.2GHz.

The price isn't bad either. The cheapest Dell gaming laptop has the same processor as this machine with half the RAM, a 120GB HDD and no HD DVD or Blu-Ray burner for $1,299.

Gaming laptops, more like a movie watching laptop Heh.

How ever the deal is power drain how much strain is this piece of hardware going to put on my batterie.
